First of all, the talented photographers Grace Havlak & Gavin Farrington MUST be recognized. They really did a beautiful job! When we first met several months ago at a mixer for theKnot.com, I knew we had similar styles. Grace always wears THE cutest dresses and fab heels, and her handsome beau Gavin is super stylish as well. I was immediately drawn to them, so when we decided to collaborate on a shoot together, I thought, 'let's get a little weird with this one'. I had big plans for the design, but fell a bit short of what I wanted to get accomplished in this one, but the venue and the beautiful model (my cousin Morgan) shined brightly anyway.
One major perk to having your wedding at the Lyford House in Tiburon is that you really do not have to do anything aesthetically to have a beautiful wedding. This place is unreal! The Victorian-style home, the gorgeous property with the trees, a creek, bridge and private beach to it's own little inlet of the bay, is truly an enchanted setting for an intimate gathering. I truly fell in love with this place. I want to get married all over again and have it at Lyford House!
What I did manage to do with the styling is go in a little quirky vintage bug route. I borrowed antique brooches from my favorite antique shop, The Cottage Jewel in Danville, stuck them in her bouquet and one on her sash detail I made on her dress (which is actually my own wedding dress!)
Many thanks again to Grace Havlak & Gavin Farrington for their superb talent in photography, Matt from Frame 44 for the amazing video at the bottom of the blog, my beautiful and talented cousin Courtney Nilmeyer for her hot skills in hair and makeup, and another special thank you to cousin Morgan Nilmeyer for looking gorgeous in the freezing cold! All florals, styling and coordination done and provided by Something Blue, Wedding Planning & Design :) Enjoy!!
